Quakeworld.nu started as a pet project and has been running for about 6 months now with great success. We have been working very hard the last 3 months recoding the site and we now have a solid base to build a really nice Quakeworld community site. We bring you QW news from all over the world, articles and have a nice forum where our users can speak their mind. One cannot deny that we are mere voulenteers. We are not professionals and we do not get paid. We have alot of ideas to make the site a better place for those who wish to play and commute with fellow quakers. We are aware that trying out QW and becoming a part of the QuakeWorld community is not easy at first, and in relation to that we want to make it easier eventually. But we are trying to find a balance of suiting the needs of the current community aswel as taking initiatives for newcomers. Milton conquers Duelmania3!

The final of Duelmania's third season was played a while ago and the name of new Duelmania champion is Milton! He beated his final opponent Champ 3-1 and therefore he survived this season without defeats. Duelmania 3 admin crew wants to congratulate this new champion and hope he'll sign up when Duelmania4 starts!
Overall the season 3 was a great success. We had 220 players signed up and thanks to all of the competitors, we saw 14 rounds of the best QW 1on1 action on Earth! The league lasted for two months and ten days and I wont even try to count how many matches were played during that time! I'd like to toss you few facts anyway: 106 demos were uploaded to CH-TV and that covers only a minority of all Duelmania3 games. 39 of those demos have been downloaded 100 or more times SO FAR! I think that's a good example of how popular QW still is nowadays. Another good example of popularity is the amounts of the spectators we've had watching these Duelmania games - from the beginning to the end. I counted only once the actual amount of spectators during a game and that was Milton-Avenger Winners Bracket Quarterfinal match: 141 observers at the time! I can roughly guess that we had perhaps twice as much during the final. That's why I want to thank all of you who supported Duelmania by being there watching the games, downloading the demos and commenting here, at qw.nu or at IRC about Duelmania's happenings.
Future of Duelmania is looking much more brighter now than it was after the second season. We've really well working pages, few enthusiastic admins and what's the most important thing: big and active QW scene which really deserves a high quality 1on1 event. So far we havent planned the fourth season at all and certainly we need a little break now after Duelmania3, but I am quite positive that you will hear about us after a while.
Milton is the champion. Duelmania's third season is now officially over.

While Milton as the winner of the winners-bracket only has to win one best-of-five-series to be the champion, chAmp has to win two best-of-five-series.

Duelmania3 finals: Milton vs. Champ

Champ beated ]SR[ParadokS in Losers bracket final and therefore he will face his mentor Milton in Duelmania's third season finals. These guys have been practising with eachothers for hundreds of rounds and it clearly has paid off, since they're now officially the two best duelplayers in Duelmania3.
Finals deadline is sunday 10th of August. We will announce the exact date for the 1st final as soon as it's scheduled.
