controversy 2

ven was in a winning position on bravado, he did the sportsman thing to not kill BD but was negatively affected by having -60hp and -1minute of game time. in the very next engagement BD got 2 or 3 frags from this situation which arguably swayed the map decision. a similar thing happened on aerowalk as well. BD under the impression you can't pause. Ven under the impression he has to waste game time not killing his afk enemy who isn't laggin

both players agreed to ZTN decider and they did it twice for good measure if it was up to me, they would have replayed bravado and continued on from there but they chose ZTN decider

both players commended for the sportsmanlike behaviour

Just for posterity in case I look back at this in 10 years and my memory starts to fail!

dm6: he dominated me, I never felt comfortable. Score looks closer than I deserve. No interruptions by baby!

aerowalk: at 1:45 I got up to take care of crying baby without pausing, came back at 2:25 and we resumed. Stacks were about even when I got up and I was down by 2. Ven was a gentleman and didn't kill me during those 40 seconds although he was well within his rights to. When we resumed I had no stack against full RA and I died a few times, so it was a tough break. I barely won the map but it's not clear how it would have played out without the interruption.

I chose not to pause because although I wasn't sure if it was allowed or not, I thought it wouldn't be great sportsmanship by me in a tourney game to ruin his flow/timing. I should take the hit for my own interruptions and he should be allowed to frag away or stack up while waiting.

dm2: tight game all around, could have gone either way, got some lucky breaks. No interruptions!

bravado: similar to aerowalk, I had to get up from 3:38 to 4:39. Was down by 5 and completely out of control when I got up. Ven's mega ticked away during those 60 seconds, we ended up trading kills after resuming but he immediately regained ra and mega and full control. I eked out a win but again it's not clear how the outcome would have differed. Once again ven could have killed me for a minute but graciously chose not to while his mega counted down.

At this point it was 3-1 for me and I was declared the winner. But the wins on aero/bravado felt hollow and I thought ven was unfairly punished for being too nice during my situation at home. I offered to replay the series or maybe just play a single ztn and call it a decider, even if # of map wins wouldn't make sense (logic being that either aero or bravado could have gone to him, hence making the score 2-2 instead of 3-1 for me). Eventually a few minutes later we did that. Baby happened to want to interfere then too, crying starting from about 45 seconds in :) I tried to ignore and didn't want to ruin yet another map, but ended up pausing about 5 minutes in to take care of him. Map was already out of reach by then and I couldn't recover.

Dirtbox thinks we played another ztn 'decider' but that's not the case. I had already conceded the match after the 5th map (1st ztn), and just wanted to play a map for fun hopefully without distractions/interruptions.

Cheers ven, good games and great sportsmanship shown by you! Good luck in next rounds :P
